Born in 1917, Albert Sevrin chose the name "André" at his vesture in 1939. He first exercised the task of circator and Master of Novices (1946), then became Vicar in Treignes in 1955. He was to stay there for the rest of his life, before retiring for a well deserved rest.
He had been diagnosed with a jaw cancer a few years ago and bore his disease with courage, completely abandoned to the will of God and committed to prayer. He often reminded us not to forget poverty and live it up to his death, surrendering himself to God and delivering his life to Him.
He had been admitted at the palliative care unit of Saint-François in Namur on Friday 17th November 2006 and passed away in the night of 19th-20th, supported as ever by the devout care of Bernadette.
The funeral Mass will take place in the Abbey church, on Thursday 23 November at 11am, followed by interment in the Abbey graveyard.
