Marcel Boel est né à Geel le 2 février 1919. Ayant reçu l’habit le 15 septembre 1938, il fit profession le 15 septembre 1940 et fut ordonné prêtre le 25 juillet 1944.
Élu comme 59e abbé de Tongerlo, il reçut la bénédiction abbatiale le 30 juin 1953. Il renonça à sa charge le 23 septembre 1981.
