Father Dominique Goblet was born in 1959 in Ciney. He studied Le Père Dominique Goblet est né en 1959 à Ciney. He studied music primer, cello and singing at the local Conservatory, together with organ. He took his degree in graphic arts, took evening classes at the Brussels “Beaux-Arts” and worked in the advertising business.
In 1989 he became a member of Leffe Abbey community and read philosophy and theology at IET (Jesuits) in Brussels. He got his organ degree at the Organists’ Diocesan School of Malines-Brussels and has been studying organ for ten years with Jean Ferrard in Brussels. Three years ago he started teaching Religious and Liturgical Questions and Choir-liturgical singing at IMEP in Namur.
Fr Dominique is organist and precentor at the Abbey.

Glass works
In the XIXth century, the Abbey was converted into a glass works; furnaces and a manufacturing shop were set up in the ruins of the church, workmens’ families were accommodated in a part of the monastery. (read more)
