La liturgie des funérailles suivie de l’inhumation dans le cimetière de la communauté sera célébrée le vendredi 20 juin à 11 heures en l’église abbatiale. Les visites ont lieu chaque jour de 16 à 18 heures.

Fr. André had been admitted at the palliative care unit of Saint-François in Namur on Friday 17th November and passed away in the night of 19th-20th, after a long desease bored with courage. The funeral Mass will take place in the Abbey church, on Thursday 23 November at 11am, followed by interment in the Abbey graveyard.

After the death of Prelate Ulrich Geniets, the Canony of Averbode proceded to the election of its new Abbot. Fr Jos Wouters, 47, has been chosen as 52nd abbot of Averbode for a period of 12 years. The abbot’s blessing by Cardinal Danneels will take place on May 7th.

Fr Abbot Joost Marcel Boel, former Prelate of Tongerloo Abbey, passed away on 7th February 2006. The funeral will take place in the Abbey church on Saturday 11th at 11am, followed by burial in the community’s graveyard.

Ce 25 janvier 2006, le frère Joachim de l’abbaye Saint-Michel de Frigolet a rejoint la Maison du Père. Il venait d’entrer dans sa 84e année et allait bientôt fêter ses 60 ans de vie religieuse. Ses funérailles seront célébrées à l’église Saint-Michel le samedi 28 janvier prochain.

Le frère Godefroid Billon, de l’Abbaye Saint-Martin de Mondaye (France), est décédé dans la nuit du 18 au 19 décembre 2005. Il s’est éteint entouré de frère Joël et de frère Cyrille, qui lui ont donné le sacrement des malades. Les obsèques du frère Godefroid seront célébrées en l’Abbatiale de Mondaye le jeudi 22 décembre à 10h30.
